Hey, Trainers!National_Champs_logo_sm

If you are looking to go to the U.S. National Championships next summer, start marking your calendars!

Where and when is it?
It will be held from July 5-7, 2013 at the Indianapolis Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN. The event will host both the TCG and VGC tournaments.

What is required in order for me or my child to participate in the tournaments?
-Junior and Senior Division players will need at least five (5) Play! Points to be eligible to participate.
-Master Division Players will need at least fifteen (15) Play! Points to be eligible to participate.
-There are no Play! Points requirement to participate. You can simply attend and register for the event.

Can I or my child still play at Nationals even though I don’t meet the Play! Points requirement for TCG or if I choose not to participate in the Nationals Tournaments (TCG or VGC)?
YES! Even if you can’t/don’t play in the Nationals Tournaments, there are plenty of Side Events and game opportunities to play, enjoy yourself, meet other players across the country, and even win cool stuff. Also, you can meet some cosplayed Pokémon and other cosplaying Pokémon fans and score rare downloadable Pokémon for your Black 2 and/or White 2 version(s)! Be sure to bring your TCG decks and Nintendo 3DS with Black 2/White 2…there will be plenty of gaming and trading going on!

What is the general schedule of events for the Nationals Tournaments?
Friday, July 5 – All age divisions in the TCG will play several rounds of Swiss.
Saturday, July 6 – All age divisions in the TCG and VGC will complete their Swiss rounds and play Top Cut to a Top 16.
Sunday, July 7 – All age divisions in the TCG and VGC will finish their Top Cut rounds until National Champions have been crowned!

What happens if I or my child does well in the Nationals Tournaments?
Aside from great Pokémon merchandise, Championship Points, and possible scholarship money…
TCG – Top 8 players in each division will receive an invitation to the 2013 World Championships with the Top 4 receiving travel awards.
VGC – Top 4 players in each division will receive a travel award to the 2013 World Championships.

I will post links about the U.S. National Championships under the “Tournaments” tab so you can get the full scoop at your convenience. Let me know if you have any questions!
