Hey Trainers!

I just wanted to announce that our Winter and Spring Regional Championships in the Southeast have been scheduled! Click on the links below for more information.

Winter Regional Championships – Lake Buena Vista, FL
January 19, 2013 – TCG (all rounds for Juniors and Seniors, Masters thru Top 32)
January 20, 2013 – TCG (Masters Top 16-on) and VGC (all divisions)

Spring Regional Championships – Athens, GA
April 13, 2013 – TCG (all rounds for Juniors and Seniors, Masters thru Top 32)
April 14, 2013 – TCG (Masters Top 16-on) and VGC (all divisions)

TCG format is Modified-Constructed (decklists required). Swiss and Top Cut rounds for each age division will be based on attendance with a maximum cut to a Top 16 for Juniors and Seniors and a Top 32 for Masters.

VGC format will be announced at a later date although I presume Black 2/White 2 version game cartridges may be required to participate. Swiss and Top Cut rounds for each age division will be based on attendance with a maximum cut to a Top 8 for all age divisions.

Regional Championships are a Tier 2 Premier Event, meaning that you are expected to have prior tournament experience or otherwise be very familiar with the tournament and game rules, and demostrate the utmost sportsmanship and gamesmanship because of the elevated nature of the competition and the potential prizes involved compared to Tier 1 Premier Events.

All players participating in a Regional Championships will earn three (3) Play! Points towards eligibility to attend the 2013 U.S. National Championships and a Regional Championships promo card! There is no limit to the amount of Premier Events you can attend!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey Trainers!

For those of you who haven’t already heard by now, TPCi is offering League badge cases to all players who attend a League for the 2012-2013 League cycle!

In order to get one:
1. Ensure that your Player ID number is linked to your Trainer Club account (also per WRAPL policy)!
2. Log into your Trainer Club account.
3. Click on the “My Play! Pokémon” tab.
4. Scroll down until you see the “Leagues” menu. Ensure that you have been reported as having attended the Legend Season during the previous League cycle. The menu to order the badge case will be available if you have.
5. On the order menu, select the League and the upcoming season (Aspetia Gym) you plan on attending to pick up your badge case.
6. Please be timely in placing this order or you may have to wait until the next season to place your order. Badge cases will normally be shipped along with the upcoming season’s prize support and the invoice will usually say who the badge cases ordered belong to.

If you haven’t been reported as having attended the Legend Season, you can still attend League for the Aspertia Gym Season and place your badge case order for the Virbank Gym Season. Players will only receive one (1) badge case for the entire League cycle.

For more information about this or what the upcoming cycle will look like, click here!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey, Trainers!

Black 2 and White 2 versions are out for the Nintendo DS!
Don’t forget to download Genesect from Nintendo Wi-Fi now through November 12!

If you downloaded Keldeo and taught it Secret Sword, you can trade it over to your B2 or W2 version and transform it into its Resolute Forme! Take your Keldo to Pledge Grove, which is in a hidden passage behind Alder’s house in Floccesy Town, and inspect the rock. Even if your Keldeo doesn’t know Secret Sword, you will still have the opportunity to teach it when you get to the rock and it will transform into Resolute Forme that way. As long as Keldeo knows Secret Sword, it will remain in Resolute Forme.

If you own a Nintendo 3DS or a 3DS XL, you can download the Pokémon Dream Radar app for about $2.95. With this app, it is possible to capture the Therian Formes of Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus as well as other Pokémon that you can transfer over to your B2 or W2 version game!

The Autumn TCG and VGC Regional Championships are this weekend!

Early Boundaries Crossed Pre-Release Information
The Pre-Release dates for GA haven’t been posted yet, but I do have an event date for those who are willing to travel south to get to one closest to Middle GA:

Sunday, October 28 – Tallahassee, FL

Chris Clark will be the TO for this event, and registration will be $27. Click on the link above for more information. I will post information about GA events as they become available.

Modified-Constructed Tournament on October 20th at HV
If you are interested in participating in this tournament, registration will be from 11 A.M. to noon, and fee is $5. You must construct your deck within the BLW-on format. Completed decklists will be required. If you need to print out a decklist, click on the Library tab above, and click on BLW thru DRX Decklist document. It is recommended that you bring your completed decklist and cards in your deck in the same exact order face-up when you arrive as the registration process typically takes longer than sealed tournaments. Decklists will be provided at the event, but it is recommended that you arrive as soon as registration opens if you need to fill one out onsite. Prizes will be based on division attendance and the tournament will be conducting Swiss rounds. Top Cuts will be enforced for large turnouts (at least 8 players) in a single division. All players are encouraged to consult the Official Tournament Rules document (in the Library tab) for the standards of conduct for this type of tournament. League Session for this date will be CANCELLED.

Possible Boundaries Crossed Sealed Tournament Date Ideas?
I am looking to host a post-release sealed tournament for Boundaries Crossed at HV. I have already solicited feedback for dates and have heard from a few players that say they won’t be able to attend on Saturday, November 10, which was what I originally planned. So players, I need your help in deciding the date. Would you like me to run the event on Wednesday, November 7 (actual release date) or Saturday, November 17? Please leave a comment on proposing a date while keeping in mind that your suggestion will be the date you are most willing to attend. Please understand that due to the recent rising cost of Pre-release events, I am obligated to raise the registration fee to $27 for eight (8) total Booster Packs starting with Boundaries Crossed.

Don’t forget to link your Player ID Number to your Trainer Club Account!
Starting on October 22, WRAPL will enforce the new League Policy that states we reserve the right to refuse League prizes to players who attend our League and have not linked their Player ID numbers to their Trainer Club accounts. However, players will continue to receive stamps toward their prizes and will receive them retroavtively when this requirement is met. The quantity of our future prize kits ultimately depends on attendees’ linked Player IDs, so please make every effort to complete this requirement as soon as possible! Let Gyphon or I know if you need a (new) Player ID!

As usual, let me know if you have any questions or what your response is for the Boundaries Crossed Sealed Tournament date!

Hey, trainers!

If you are interested in participating in the Regional Championships this Fall, there are a few locations that will be holding it. For the TCG, it will take place on Saturday, October 13 with all rounds of Swiss being played and Sunday, October 14 for the Top Cut rounds. The VCG tournament will take place on Sunday, October 14. For perfroming really well, you could earn up to a travel award or stipend to the U.S. National Championships next summer, several booster packs of the current set (Dragons Exalted), and plenty of Championship Points to count towards an invitaion to the 2013 World Championships! All players will earn three (3) Play! Points and a Regional Championships promo card for participating.

Click on the links below for information for a particular location:
Philadelphia, PA, USA
Houston, TX, USA
Mississauga, ON, Canada
Santa Clara, CA, USA
Fort Wayne, IN, USA

Please keep in mind that while Dragon Vault may be released within two weeks of the Regional Championships, it will not be tournament legal for the TCG at this tournament as it’s street legal date has been declared by TPCi for October 15. The exception will be Rayquaza, EXP Share, and Random Receiver. Click here for more info.

For the VGC, Black 2 and White 2 will not be tournament legal. You must play with your original Black or White versions to participate. For all divisions, the tournament format is Swiss rounds (single game) based on attendance with a Top Cut of 8 (best 2 of 3). For information on the VGC Modified-Constructed format and other rules, click on the Tournaments tab above and click on Tournament Formats and Official Tournament Rules documents; the VGC sections are near the end of those documents.
