For more information, please click on the links above for that particular location.

General information:
Battle Roads are part of the TCG Championship series held during the Spring and Fall. This type of tournament is ideal for players who are new to tournament play and would like to gain experience in an official tournament setting sanctioned by the Pokémon Company.

The format is Modified-Constructed, in which players must play with a 60-card deck that follows the current annual Modified, Tournament-Legal set list. Swiss Rounds are typically conducted in 30 minutes with “Plus 3” in effect. Top Cut matches are typically conducted in best of three games within 60 minutes with “Plus 3.” However, the PTO running the event has the discretion to alter the time format before the tournament begins.

The Top Cut maximum across all age divisions is Top 4 (minimum attendance of 16 in that age division, or else it cuts to a Top 2 if minimum division attendance is 8, or best Swiss record if division attendance is less than 8).

All players will receive one (1) Play! Point for participating in a Battle Roads event. There are no limits to the number of Battle Road events you can attend each year. If you are looking to play at the National Championships this year, Spring Battle Roads may be your last chance to earn Play! Points to meet the 10 Play! Points requirement to attend Nationals.

Prizes for playing well in Battle Roads include:
1st Place – 4 Booster packs of the currently-released set, 1st Place Victory Cup promo card, and 2 Championship Points
2nd Place – 4 Booster packs of the currently-released set, 2nd Place Victory Cup promo card, and 1 Championship Point
3rd Place – 2 Booster packs of the currently-released set, 3rd Place Victory Cup promo card, and 1 Championship Point with a division attendance of 32
4th Place – 2 Booster packs of the currently-released set, and 1 Championship Point with a division attendance of 32
5th thru 8th Place will earn 1 Championship Point with a division attendance of 64.

Division attendance usually concerns the Master Division as it the largest age division in the TCG, but the general definition is attendees in a particular division.

Championship Points are awarded to determine eligibility to play in the World Championships, and are not to be confused with Play! Points.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to see you out there playing a few events this summer!
